Notes on Application Procedure
- Application period
Application period ・・・ September 16 - October 15 (Period for online application)
(When you advance from undergraduate student to graduate school student your student number will change. Please apply after you have received your new student number.)
- User Fee
Half year : \3,000
※If you wish to apply during another period, please see the "List of Monthly User Fees" below.
- Payment of User Fees
A payment slip will be available at the student support team in the Support Office at each Faculty or School. User fees must be paid by October 15.
If you pay on or after October 15, you may not be allowed to park on campus from November 1 and after.
- Measures for False Application
If any person obtains a parking permit by submitting a false application, the following actions will be taken:
1. His/her parking permit will be revoked immediately.
2. Any user fee paid will not be refunded.
Application procedures for Parking Permit, etc.
There are three types of application: general application, special application, and rental application. Please check the following requirements and go to the appropriate page to make an application.

1.General Application (Bylaws, Article 4, Paragraph 2)
Students belonging to HU departments (including postgraduates) who have signed a voluntary automobile insurance contact and attended safety education programs specified by HU Vice President (in change of education and student affairs) (As a rule, third-year undergraduates or above)
However, those in the following categories shall be excluded.
* First- and second-year undergraduate students (excepting those commuting over long distances). →Go to 2
* Those residing in Ikenoue Student Dormitory or Hiroshima International House.
* Those residing in specified areas (shown in links below).

2.Special Application (Bylaws, Article 4, Parafraph 6)
Those acknowledged by Executives (in charge of general affairs) to be need of commuting by car for their education and research
Specifically, those in the following categories
* First- and second-year undergraduate students who must commute over long distances
●In 2023, from the viewpoint of the risk of infection with the new coronavirus and the prevention of the spread of infection, the definition of long-distance commuting will be changed to "It takes 90 minutes or more to 60 minutes or more when using public transportation". (This measure will be taken only in 2023 and will be reviewed in 2024 depending on the infection status of the new coronavirus.)

※Definition of Long-distance Commuter
(1) A student who commutes a long distance for more than 90 minutes (one way) by public transportation and whose commuting time will be reduced significantly by driving to school
(2) A student who resides in an area where there is limited or no access to public transportation, who commutes for more than 60 minutes (one way), and whose commuting time will be reduced significantly by driving to school
Parking Space South No. 6 near the 4th gate is available for parking for long-distance commuters. Student identification cards will be used for parking from the 4th gate only.

* Those residing in areas where commuting by car is restricted (See links above) but who must commute by car for special reasons (physical, health etc.)

3.Lease Application (Bylaws, Article 4, Parafraph 4)
Those who have special circumstances, such as physical disabilities (Physical Disability Certificate holders or those with disabilities deserving said certification, who have difficulty in commuting except by car)
